Troubleshoot WPP Files
Common WPP Opening Problems
Serif WebPlus Isn't There
If you attempt to load your WPP file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open WPP Files". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Serif WebPlus for %%os%% installed on your computer. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens WPP files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Serif WebPlus Requires Update
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Serif WebPlus installed that's incompatible with your WebPlus Project File type. Download the latest Serif WebPlus version from the Serif website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Your WebPlus Project File file was probably created by a newer release of Serif WebPlus than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: If you right-click on your WPP file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening WPP files are due to having the incorrect version of Serif WebPlus installed on your computer.
Other WPP File Issues
Although you might already have Serif WebPlus or another WPP-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening WebPlus Project File files. If you are still having problems opening WPP files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Other contributing causes:
