Typical WTS Opening Challenges

Missing Serif WebPlus

When you double-click your WTS file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have Serif WebPlus installed for %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.

Tip: If you know of another program that can open your WTS file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.

Serif WebPlus Requires Update

It is possible that your version of Serif WebPlus isn't able to open your WebPlus Theme Set file due to incompatibility. You will need to download a newer version of Serif WebPlus if you don't have the right version. This problem is predominately due to having a WebPlus Theme Set file version that was created by a newer version of Serif WebPlus than what you have installed on your PC.

Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your WTS file and clicking "Properties".

Primarily, problems experienced when opening WTS files are due to having the incorrect version of Serif WebPlus installed on your computer.

Other WTS File Opening Causes

Even with the correct version of Serif WebPlus installed, you can still experience difficulties opening WTSs. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening WTSs. These issues include:

• File references in the Windows Registry for WTS are wrong
• Corruption of the WTS file description inside the Registry
• Corrupt install of Serif WebPlus or other WTS-related program
• The WTS itself is corrupted
• Malware-tainted WTS file can't be opened
• Drivers associated with WTS software need to be updated
• Windows cannot load your WebPlus Theme Set file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
