Troubleshooting Problems Opening ES Files
Common Problems Opening ES Files
ECHOSPEECH Disappeared
When trying to open your ES file, you get the error "Can't Open ES File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have ECHOSPEECH installed for %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the ES file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: Another ES-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Wrong Version of ECHOSPEECH is Installed
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a ECHOSPEECH File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you do not have the proper version ECHOSPEECH (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. The primary cause of this problem is that your ECHOSPEECH File file was created by a different (newer) version of ECHOSPEECH than what's installed.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of ES file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening ES files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other ES File Opening Causes
Assuming you have the right ECHOSPEECH version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening ES files. If you are still having problems opening ES files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. These issues include:
- ES file type Registry entries are wrong
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry ES description
- ECHOSPEECH or another ES application experienced a flawed installation
- File corruption affecting your ES file
- Your ES is infected with malware
- Device drivers for ES-related hardware are out-of-date
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the ECHOSPEECH File format
