Issues Opening CCT Files

Missing Adobe Director

When you double-click your CCT file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have Adobe Director installed for %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your CCT with Adobe Director, so double-clicking the file won't work.

Tip: If you have another software that you know opens CCT files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.

Obsolete Version of Adobe Director

Your Director Protected Cast Resource file is incompatible with Adobe Director because you might have the wrong version installed. Visit the Adobe Systems Incorporated website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Adobe Director. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.

Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your CCT file and clicking "Properties".

Regardless, most of the CCT file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Adobe Director installed.
